Jennifer Larmar, her nom de plume, was born in Brisbane, Australia.  Only weeks after turning seventeen, she moved to Wellington, New Zealand for a working holiday.  When her father died eighteen months later, she returned to Australia and a little while later moved to Canberra for six years where her daughter was born, before settling back into her home state of Queensland.  She is currently living with her husband in Brisbane.

For many years, Jennifer and her young daughter lived beside one of the beautiful beaches that fringe Queensland's Sunshine Coast.  Now this same daughter, along with her adorable little grandson, live in Melbourne and Jennifer visits them as often as possible.  'Rhino' - his affectionate family pet name - is the delight of her life and some of her best days are those spent sharing fun and laughter with him.  Their regular Skype calls are the most favourite times of her weeks.

Raised in a musical family, she studied piano and sang alto in several school and church choirs.  Jennifer has always enjoyed putting pen to paper and, over the years, she has written the lyrics to several pieces, including the school anthem at a state government school which the students still sing every morning on assembly.   As a young woman, she was the alto component of a vocal duo, penning lyrics with a folk/gospel singer/guitarist & composer and performing in coffee shops together on weekends.  This love of music saw her treading the boards in several musical productions in both Canberra and on the Sunshine Coast.

Writing has become her passion and, apart from travelling across this vast intriguing planet discovering new and exciting places as well as regular visits to her family, she loves nothing better than sitting at the computer in her inner city apartment, bringing beloved characters to life and often taking them on journeys across the world.  As she says, “Writing is like going on holidays every day ... without the expense!  I can take my characters anywhere - to do anything ... and all from the comfort of my study.”

Lucy Maunder, a multi-talented Australian musical theatre star who Jennifer describes as "having a voice like liquid chocolate - warm, smooth and sweet that oozes into every pore of a listener's soul", is often seen treading the boards on Australian and overseas stages and was the inspiration for Jennifer's first series 'Til the End of Time after witnessing her perform the role of Lara Guishar in Doctor Zhivago - A New Musical on four separate occasions throughout July and August of 2011.
